Anyone have any recommendations for an HDD for recording off the tv. we want rid of the top box we had for our old tv.
Tv is a sony smart tv if that helps?

Any external USB HDD will be fine. If there is any issues, it's usually down to formatting or plugging into the non-powered USB port if it's a bus powered drive.
I use a [url= http://www.amazon.co.uk/Passport-Ultra-Portable-Drive-Backup/dp/B00CSH1B4M ]2GB Western Digital[/url] with my Samsung. I imagine anything similar would be fine.

I use the same one with my Samsung too, stuck to the rear of the tv. I failed once after ~9months use I think, but was replaced under warranty no probs.
