This popped up on a local 'memories' Facebook page.
Anyone have any insight into what the sign is in relation to?

Possibly "British R(?) Temperance Association", where R could be Rail/Railways based on the spoked wheel at the centre?

Fairly sure the TA is Temperance Association, given the sign's on a hotel.

There was a BWTA (British Womens Temperance Association).

Bangladesh Road Transport Authority

Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (USA)

Brownfield Remediation Tax Assistance (canada)

Can't find anything UK based (apart from the link already posted)

Where is it?

Googling found the Berkshire Regional Transport Authority, and I found a reference to this place in Pembrokeshire.

I'd put (a small amount) of money on it being Temperance related.

my instincts immediately leapt to Round Table, before even considering the letters. with that in mind.. British Round Table Association?

nothing else correlates, but I thought I'd throw it out there

steve - being Malvern it's quite likely to be round table.

Your reckless willingness to gamble fuelled by drink no doubt!

I checked and we don't hold any records for any temperance hotels or halls in Great Malvern.
Could be down to survival tho.

Guido,
A quick Google suggest that the Central Hotel was temperance.

Also that Great Malvern Hotel was originally the Beauchamp Hotel, but that doesn't seem to throw up any temperance links.

I checked and we don't hold any records for any temperance hotels or halls in Great Malvern.

An old friend of lives (or lived..... don't know if he's moved) in an old temperance hostel just off the high st in Malvern. Every time he lifted a floorboard he'd find crushed up beer bottles underneath. Residents must have snuck them in then broken then up and shoved then down the cracks to hide them.

Its been 20 years so I've been for a wander round Malvern on Street View trying to remember how I used to drive there.... but hazy memory suggests the building now being the Malvern Book Cooperative in St Ann's Road - for a short while he ran the shop space an art and craft gallery.

If the "T.A." is a temperance thing the "B.R." could be "Blue Ribbon"

Here is one for sale in an auction

https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-us/auction-catalogues/brightwells/catalogue-id-srbr10002/lot-86130d46-1b7a-4457-bc19-a3f701898f44

Google seems to suggest that it is an amalgamation of British Hospital Association AND Restaurant Association.
