Anyone else find this happens?

I pretty much ride my bike everyday... But for the past 9 days I haven't been near it, I've done no other exercise and pretty much veg'd around the house. My food intake unchanged.

Yet I feel trimmer ?

Trimmer or lighter in the legs? Regular hard cycling (as in summer) builds up muscle bulk quite quickly and makes my legs feel heavy when I walk.

I've been off the bike for 4 weeks with a leg injury - bed-bound and on crutches.

I have lost a lot of muscle off my thighs and backside. Trousers that I've been able to wear for years fit me again.

You've allowed your body to recover?

Loss of muscle bulk, it's gonna hurt a bit when you do get back on and attempt to ride as you did before until you build back up

exercise doesn't make you fitter, recovery does, which happens post exercise replacing energy used during exercise and consuming energy in repairing damaged cells.

I'd be amazed if you lose any noticeable percentage of muscle in 9 days without training or dieting....
