Did you not notice the background, nedrapier? I've been very involved recently in attempting to quantify the beauty in that picture.

That's my Kilauea in the OP. It probably isn't a good idea to tell you how much it cost to restore!
If you want to read the whole story of it go to http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=237961

I think I'm stuck. Is it the Malvern Hills?

One for the woodburnerists, saw it, desired it, bought it.
12 tons of splitting force gruntiness.

Or possibly fits the "object of desire (but no practical use)" bill better:

£170! Probably for the best eh? Mine cost me at least that in bits before I even started to think about restoration - now hopefully enjoying a new life in Germany.

Meh, possibly a bargain, possibly not. Crappy pics didn't help. After reading Robdob's RB link though to get that into the state it was in to make me drool; I started to question costs.

I'll stick with the RC200 for retro-needs right now.

Now if someone showed me an explosif pro with Suntour groupset, then all logic would go out of the window. 😉

Hmmm, let me think.....

A Lightning
A V600 Le Mans
A Blower Bentley
A '63 S2 DHC, probably MPW coachwork
A PROPER quattro, homologation special
Alfa Nero
Maltese Falcon
A J Class. Velsheda, I think
Heron Bay
And a nice pint of Summer Lightning

Most of it is time and effort to be honest, not cash. I lavished a lot on mine because I know I will never sell it. I have a lot of unnecessary expense that others could miss out. NOS thumbshifters/chainset and pauls levers aren't cheap (£170 for those 3 bits)! Total cost was around £850 but I didn't have wheels (£150).

Hand polishing the rear mech took 4 hours!

I've always been nuts about these.

one with a vr6 engine would be very tasty
thinking about trading in my 3 year old work van to fund it,would be slightly crazy as it wouldnt be very practical for work

One of these would be nice as well, despite me being a Gibson man.

Hmm TAFKASTR - a different one of those might be an object of desire, but it just looks silly with those wheels, tyres and suspension.

You can keep your super cars.

This is too close for comfort.
