My Tescos sells Pizza Express pizzas. Are they laced with sugar?
They'll be exactly the same as the Tesco's own brand ones, made on the same industrial estate production line, by minimum waged immigrants, with the same lowest-common-denominator ingredients.
But they're three times the price as they're specifically marketed at aspirational, middle-class half-wits with more money than sense 😉
buy a healthier Pizza
Somehow that seems a really flawed concept, but I'm struggling to think of how to explain why.
And we were wondering why lazy people are fat...
Its not a mystery really, is it.
😉
All available in that very same supermarket I would have thought
ah yes, but then you'd have to walk that bit further to get those ingredients, which is a hell of a lot harder than buying a piece of sugar-soaked cardboard
Wow free bike that maintains itself for free that does indeed sound awesome - thats quite a fail in countering my point
Not free bikes or maintenance as such, but I cycle to work and save far more on diesel then I have spent on bikes or bike maintenance (not including any saving I make because of less wear and tear on the car). So it's effectively free, yes. Plus you get to keep fit.
And we were wondering why lazy people are fat...
That's time I can spend out the bike...
I have actually made my own pizza on occasion. The Pizza base from Tesco is also disgusting. Which means I have to make the dough too.
Is it too much to ask for this to be ready prepared? Are you telling me you prepare everything yourself from raw ingredients? Never grab yourself a tin of baked beans, soup? Packet of pasta? Of course not... 🙄
That's exactly what I would tell you, if you bothered to ask before making your silly assumptions. I have opted out of processed food and feel exactly one million times better for it.Are you telling me you prepare everything yourself from raw ingredients? Never grab yourself a tin of baked beans, soup? Packet of pasta? Of course not...
So it's effectively free, yes
Its cheaper not free
OK, I'll bite. If you think that supermarket pizza products are 'disgusting', why are you buying and eating them?
As for pizza dough, make a load up, split into balls and freeze. When you think you'll wnat pizza in the evening, take a ball out to defrost in the morning
That's exactly what I would tell you, if you bothered to ask before making your silly assumptions.
Are they silly? They apply to at least 99.9% of the population.
never know anyone make their own baked beans
Most dont make their own bread and i doubt many make their own pasta
I cook 90% of my food from ingredients but I have yet to make my own cornflakes either
And I bet 90% of those are at least slightly overweight, if not more.99.9% of the population.
Well... either do that make-your-own-from-organic-vegetables hippy shit... or just go to Pizza Hut. All you can eat buffet £6.95. And there's a great view of Carphone Warehouse across the retail park car park. Whats not to like?
And I bet 90% of those are at least slightly overweight, if not more.
Now we're getting somewhere...

I think you're missing a point. Some folk are allegic to kitchen duties that extend beyond peeling back the lid, closing the door and setting the timer. I'm not judging, just saying like.
I am 😆I'm not judging
And I bet 90% of those are at least slightly overweight, if not more.
ok how much do you want to bet?
so 90% or more of the population is overweight is that our wager?
All this talk of Pizza has made me quite peckish. Might have to drive to the Tesco express now.
Women used to stay at home, look after the family, cook the meals etc. Now in most families both partners work.
We work longer hours than ever before individually never mind as a family unit.
We travel further to work than our parents and grandparents.
Streets are busy and full of traffic, certainly not the playground they were for children just a generation ago.
Life has changed a lot in recent history, we have constraints on our time and our lifestyles have changed. It's no surprise that poor health and obesity has risen as a result. And its no surprise that the most ignorant, wealthiest and greediest members of society still want to victimise the poorest and those with the least power to fight back, to grab an even bigger slice of the financial pie.
overweight
What is this. I'm probably over weight. But thats cos I have Gunz.
😯
Kids are £3.99. Result! If you've got little porkers too 😀
Its cheaper not free
No, it's free. I've effectively paid for my bike several times over since I've been cycling to work. In fact, the savings I make pay for my hobby. You don't have to spend thousands on a bike to commute to work.
All this talk of Pizza has made me quite peckish. Might have to drive to the Tesco express now.
Don't forget to park in the disabled space, will you?
Yep, but we're going by my definition of "overweight", not BMI or some other made up crap 🙂so 90% or more of the population is overweight is that our wager?
Chocolate Pizza ?. Isn't that a Cake ?.

Kids are £3.99.
Thanks, but I'm not sure I could eat a whole one.
No, it's free. I've effectively paid for my bike several times over since I've been cycling to work.
So you paid for the bike - it's not free 😉
OK, I think you probably understand the point I'm making. If I hadn't bought that bike, I'd be worse off financially. 🙂
Isn't that a Cake ?
I think you're on to something there!
Maybe, he bought a pack of Jaffa Cakes thinking they were miniature pizzas?
Hmmmmm. Jaffa Cakes......
beat me to it
I agree cycling and football is cheaper than Polo but even running requires shoes for the task [ apparently]
You don't have to spend thousands on a bike to commute to work.
Are you new here?
unfortunately not, binners.
Not free bikes or maintenance as such, but I cycle to work and save far more on diesel then I have spent on bikes or bike maintenance (not including any saving I make because of less wear and tear on the car). So it's effectively free, yes. Plus you get to keep fit.
are you seriously this stupid? People who cannot afford bikes cannot afford cars so cannot save money on getting to work by bike as they most likely havent got a job either.
They'll be exactly the same as the Tesco's own brand ones
They aren't the same, obviously.
And why is pizza considered intrinsically unhealthy? The Italian style ones (yes, that country where they eat the famous 'Mediterranean diet' that is supposedly so good for you) are a bit of bread, with concentrated tomatoes on it (very good for you) some veg, some meat and a sprinkling of mozerella. Don't see a problem here.

The taste...
Don't see a problem here
have you considered looking at the calories ?
getting a job close to home and walking is free, what you're doing is economising and getting yourself some exercise too and good on you for that*, not free tho.No, it's free. I've effectively paid for my bike several times over since I've been cycling to work.
*meant sincerely**
**that sounds patronising, sorry.
never know anyone make their own baked beans
I do. You should try it - home made baked beans are awesome. Although with the bacon and molases, I doubt they're particularly 'healthy'.
And why is pizza considered intrinsically unhealthy
Hhhmmm. Not sure what you're doing there Molgrips. Its widely acknowledged that grains aren't Man's natural food, no matter what Nestle might tell us.
have you considered looking at the calories ?
Yes - have you?
Italian ham and mushroom
750kcal the whole pizza
20g of fat
3.6g salt.
Not so bad for a main meal of the day I think, if you eat it all which I usually don't.
Its widely acknowledged that grains aren't Man's natural food
It's not widely acknowledged at all, just by some 🙂 And I said 'considered' not 'is'.
A nicely made pizza is not an unhealthy thing generally speaking, arguments about grains aside.
I think the health benefits of pizza in this famous 'Mediterranean diet' you speak of Molly, only take effect when you drink a shit-load of red wine with it too?
Women used to stay at home, look after the family, cook the meals etc. Now in most families both partners work.
We work longer hours than ever before individually never mind as a family unit.
We travel further to work than our parents and grandparents.

These are all choices. We expect a better standard of living now, and 'standard of living' is expressed in material terms, than when I was a kid, and only had one working parent.
Not necessarily a bad thing, but choices none the less.
I agree cycling and football is cheaper than Polo but even running requires shoes for the task [ apparently]
Not for Zola Budd!

Pizza in Italy is awesome. I'm no dietician. I don't know how healthy it is. But it definely looks way healthier than anything served over here. It tastes good too.
And funnily enough most Italians appear to be proportioned quite perfectly.
These are all choices.
Given that the average house price in this country is now about £180,000, you must be on a nice salary to pay that mortgage with one income
Believe it or not, not many people are
