I have (a seemingly never-ending) need of some more AAA rechargeables, ideally as high a capacity as possible. Have been fairly underwhelmed with Vapextech on balance after initially thinking they were great so wondered what the flavour of the month is? Are these new "green" ones any good?
Any NiMh geeks in?? ๐
Still nothing better than regular Sanyo Eneloops.
There are some new Eneloop XX cells out, but for most uses the regular ones are better.
Cool, will take a look at those, ta.

Yup, agreed.
In related news,
Would anyone have any recommendations for a decent charger for the above and similar? Mine went pop the other day.

I would steer clear of Vapextech, I found them hit n miss with RC batteries (not holding enough charge). My favourite is GP Batteries, they can be recharged many times and hold their charge well.
EDIT: I would look for something like this (GP Fast Battery Charger)
I would also stay clear of any eco/green thing.

Honestly, I've been using 7dayshop's own brand ones for years (AAs and AAAs) and they really, genuinely are every bit as good as Enloops. Some of the AAs must be six or seven years old now, get charged once or twice a month and used in my camera's flashguns - they'll still last half a day at a dark wedding.
I disagree on the 7dayshop (the red, silver and blue ones). I had those before eneloops and after a couple of years they were dead.
All I have learned since asking is there is a new generation of NiMH which is Low Self Discharge (LSD) These tend to last for ages, keep their charge, and come ready charged (or so it's said).
The XX Eneloops are the latest generation of this technology, apparently.
I have been using Enloops since they came out (3 years ago?) they are awesome for bike lights cameras helicopters and remotes!
