As title suggests please. Something similar to Sankeys in Manchester maybe. Just somewhere with good beats and atmosphere really.

leadmill or plug are your best options. 10 years ago I'd have said republic, home of gatecrasher - but it burned down.

I remember that. I was stuck on a bus on Arundel Gate watching it burn. There was thick, acrid smoke coming up the road and engulfing a bus stop. About 10 foot either side of the bus stop the air was clear again, but the folk waiting for the bus just stood there like morons, coughing their lungs up and probably developing some form of respiratory cancer.

I vote for Leadmill, or maybe one of the late bars around Division Street.

How you getting back into Sheffield? Rather busy after the gig if driving. Decentish venue though.

We are getting the train and staying at the etap in the centre. Something close by would be a bonus.

If gig is at Motorpoint Arena, and your hotel is near Motorpoint Arena, you'll need a taxi ride into town and back after the gig. The area around the arena is not the city centre.

Edit: and to answer the original question, Leadmill, I suppose.

you might make the trams to get into town after the gig, but you'll def need a taxi back out to the hotel. It's 3.5miles.

the trams go from the back of the arena to town, and for the leadmill you'll want to get on the tram to the station. the 'mill is a five minute walk then.

Arena - tram stop, Herdings Park tram (purple)to Sheffield Station, walk to the 'mill, taxi home.

home of gatecrasher - but it burned down.

Odly the only people inside were the owner, the manager and a promoter, and it happened shortly after Kingdom was refurbished and Plug opened demoting it the smallest big club in Sheffield.

if its a Wednesday - corporation

everyone has to experience it once in your lifetime, £2 quad-vods and toilets of which would be considered inhumane in an over subscribed refugee camp

Ahhhhh, school disco 🙂 brings back (a complete vodca induced lack of) memories.

Same prices on Saturday too IIRC? Went not so long ago and the 'vodca' wasn't as bad as I remmebered, although the hangover was.

Ahhhhh, school disco

It moved to Corp in my final year, twas better at Bed...

And the Corp was/is awesome, especially for the pints of vodka/drain-cleaner and energy drink induced insanity...

Although you will be 'corpsed' the next day.

Not sure what night your gig is but DLS (dirty little secret) maybe the nearest to sankeys

It a warehouse near the road out to the arena so not too much if a hike either

They have a face book page 🙂

Niche - the last resort at 4, I tried to train myself that if i was about to go in niche it was actually time to go home!

I try to do the same now with napoleons on eccy rd - even though you may be sat at a table and being waited on - its still nothing more than a glorified grown up kebab shop at 2am after several rums . .

Ooh, don't go to Quiche! Might not come out alive!

For drinks - depends if you want to try somewhere a bit out of town but not too far go to the Fat Cat at Kelham Island.

Frog & Parrot in town (Division Street), Forum Bar (across the road from teh F&P is ok too. Crystal Bar is quite nice as is Popolo in Leopold Square.

Not too many real ale establishments in town itself. The Riverside just down toward West Bar or the Harlequin nearby for real ales...

Cheers

Sheffield tap at the station has more real ale than you can shake a stick at - but do you want real ale?!

You won't care where you are afterwards because you'll still be totally blown away if last night in brum was anything to go by...

Yeah we are staying at the etap about half a mile from the train station. Real ale is good, good burgers is better and sky sports would be heavenly.

Thanks again.

I guess you are at the ibis at ponds forge

Instead of burgers how about a brazilian bbq - heard good things about this

Not too far to leopald square just follow the tram tracks through town, and there are a few bars around there

If you want sport the common room on division st is probably best - they do food too
