It's Old Ma and Pa IHN's 60th(!) wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks, and they'd like to go for a nice Sunday lunch to celebrate. Either in Macclesfield itself or the surrounds and, given they both wear hearing aids, somewhere that's not too loud or echoey.
Currently on the list:
- The Bridge in Prestbury
- The Windmill in whatever that bit's called between Bollington and Adlington
- Sutton Hall (although they're going there for afternoon tea on the Friday)
Any other ideas?
Can highly recommend Sutton Hall. Excellent food and well set up for that sort of thing. The other one that gets recommended (that I've not tried) is the Plough at Eaton which is meant to be very very good.
The Ryles Arms just outside Sutton
Rose & Crown at Allgreave
As said The Plough at Eaton
I'd be more than happy if I was taken to any of those already mentioned tbh
Not sure if the Ryles Arms does actual Sunday lunch? Obvioulsy they do lunch on a Sunday but they never used to offer the traditional stuff.
Another vote for Sutton Hall. It is my local and also has a nice selection of bourbons if that is your thing. The only downside is that it can get quite busy and depending on which room you're in, that might make conversation difficult. The library at the back is the smallest and best room for a meal in my opinion.
Cheers all, looks like we'll be going to The Bridge, as they had a day out in Prestbury when they were courting, bless'em.
