Anyone got any recommendations for a decent campsite somewhere in the southern/western part of the Peak District?
Due to be travelling up to Scotland from Plymouth with the wife and Pinetree Jr next month and want to break the journey somewhere with a spot of camping. Figure the bottom end of the Peak's probably about right as it's a good break point in the drive (500mi sat in a car's a bit rubbish for a toddler) fairly scenic, and not too far from the M6, but I'm not overly familiar with the area.
If it was me myself and I, I'd probably just sling my hammock in the back and find somewhere quiet in the trees. However with a family in tow, facilities are a must...
Any suggestions welcome!
We stayed at the Star near Alton a couple of weeks ago. It is just outside the peaks but easy to access the southern bits. Has decent facilities, a kids play park and the pub nearby did good food.

havent stayed there myself but looks a great spot with a pub and cafe for the necessary refreshment and a stream to cool your family’s feet

Would recommend here. Great facilities - showers, shop, play area, etc. Pub just down the road.
Only downside is the bloody peacock screeching that'll wake you up at dawn every morning 😉
