Anyone else done this? Seems a bit of a design fault. Or just my bad luck?

Mine's fixed now but I'm wondering how to go about preventing a repeat (it broke in my hip pocket while riding).

I've done it twice now , even though its in a case with a raised ledge around the camera. I guess its just a weak spot

Is it the lens or the glass outer cover? If so replacements are about £2 on ebay/amazon. You don't need to remove the rear casing to fit the new cover.

Don't worry too much, after about 18 months it will develop the dreaded boot loop, mine went last night 👿

Replacement rear covers are available. Mine died last October with the boot loop thing, a week inside of the warranty period.

Did they refund or replace?

It's been disappointing compared to the N5, I'll admit - but the camera is really good and I do love my Instabangers.

I broke the glass cover and camera unit. Cost about £40 for parts and labour to fix. I keep it in a plastic case - but it seems the camera bit is still vulnerable.

"Did they refund or replace?"

They (Carphonewawrehouse) sent it off for repair and lost the handset never to be seen again. After much complaining I got an up grade to a pixel for a small additional cost.

Ahh well my 5x developed the dreaded boot loop last night. Ground to a halt. I managed to get it to boot to the bootloader a few times before it completely bricked itself and now it does nothing, nyadda, niente.

Bought in June 2016 so I think I got just over 18 months out of it!!! Bought from Amazon but I contacted LG directly. They seem pretty helpful and proactive in getting it repaired / replaced.
