I'm out.

The Clarkson format was tired and needed an update, golden opportunity wasted.

They should have tried a new format. Not copied the old

When it was first announced that Evans was taking it on he made a big point of saying that it won't be like the last Top Gear - that obviously went out of the window then!

Gone, very poor.

I guess they went for "if it's not broken" but it just sounds forced.

What utter rubbish.

Cant stand Matt Leblanc, what a complete bell end. Evans is a big spanner too.

To give it the benefit of the doubt, the old crew had years of getting things dialled. But I'm not feeling the love thus far.

Google search revealed no Chris Harris tonight, so nothing of interest, first 2 minutes gave little hope.

Why anyone thought this would work with Chris Evans, and to a lesser extent Matt Le Blanc is beyond me.

I should add, they are both good at what they do, but just seemed like a wrong fit. Too much baggage and preconceptions with both. Could have got some more up and commer types from the world of TV/Sport and it would have worked better as it would be coming from a blank slate. You get Mr Evans involved, and already you've lost a lot of your audience.

Actually, scrub the first bit. Bin Evans, put Le Blanc front and centre and surround him with the fresh faces. It really is Evans that is going to kill this.

Le Blanc is growing on me...

Evans I could cheerfully put in a blender. He's trying too hard to be JC.

Get rid of Evans and sack the soundman in the studio. LeBlanc feature in mind is actually enjoyable.

Is it Matt LeBlanc or Joey from friends presenting?

Too many british references to remind us they have a Murican presenting.

Filming style is the same. I echo the previous comments, too much like old top gear, but without the presenters who made that good imo.

Le Blanc is the star of the show for me. He's made me laugh at times. Think he's really good.

They've tried turning his short comings in filming into a sort of softer version of May with the Yank as a form of gruff male thing.

It's almost like its a 'they've gone on holiday so here is the stand in BBC radio crew.

In a sign of extreme boredom I noticed that was the top tweet using the #topgear hashtag.

Professional vomit come to life, Katie Hopkins was the #2 tweet.

Edit: Jinx...or something.

Le Blanc's dry humour works. Evans I generally like but he appeared incredibly irritating and trying way too hard. I lasted about 30 minutes until I remembered a friend is on Wild Things tonight.

Tickl3d my funny bone - but then I was watching it on my aldi special 4K tv bought today - camer work was the usual excellent top gear standard, banter was acceptable....8/10 from me.

All of the Womble, none of the cock!

So we're agreed. Joey should do the films, and Matt Baker should do the studio stuff?

Old format ruined by new presenters - I'll probably still watch every episode though.

In retrospect the 1st thing Chris Evans should have done when asked to produce the new top gear is not put himself in front of the camera.

Might have to force myself to listen to Chris Evans breakfast show tomorrow to see if he pats himself on the back whilst everyone pretends everything's ok - could be awkward......

Crikey, as I switched from Ebu Gogo to Battle of Jutland I saw the last 3-5 mins of the new TG.

Ya, I can now confirm the show is no longer watchable.

Time to move on.
