..does it stay as sh1te as it sounded on the first listen? Quite liked the first couple of albums in a 'nice boys do joy division / interpol' kind of way, being the old shoe-gazer I am. An odd progression to then move into 3rd rate 80's disco, no?
I liked the new stuff they did on Later. The wife likes em a lot so I ordered the CD (£4.99 from crazytiger.net)
Not got it yet though
it's a grower
definitely
stick with it
whoooo?
Are they one of these new-fangled youth bands in the hit parade?
Good album , just a change from the last two , still deep and dark tho , IMO.
da funk
Indeed, it's not bad at all. Saw them at Latitude this summer and their new stuff went down well.
Would agree like them a lot got this album and on initial listen thought not good. But stuck with it and now think it's as good if not better than previous. track 5 and 9 are the weakest IMO.
Editors is Elbow played at 33 instead of 45...
Yeah, good one nick. 😕
yup, stick with it, I hated at first (as I often do with a band's 2nd/3rd album) but now I really really like it
every song (drown) sounds the same bring on the ENEMY!!!! real music
every song .. sounds the same
You sound like my dad
Don't be so touchy Dezb, I quite like the Editors, but this album is pretty hard work..
I just can't get on with the lead singers voice... (and this from a man who deifies Billy Corgan lol).
Cheers - I will bow to the greater collective wisdom of stw and grit my teeth, open my mind, and give it a couple more listens
lol at NickC, my thoughts exactly
Not so much a grower, I loved pretty much all it all first listen.
Brilliant album.
They were one of the worst live bands I've seen though
