There's a replica of the Gokstad longboat at Haroldswick on Unst. It's chuffin' huge! The Dreadnoughts of their day, you'd need a new pair of trousers when these hove into view.

Some days I sit by the Thames near Clifton Hamden and image what it must have felt like watching even a small longboat row towards Abingdon. As they were 50 odd miles up the river by then I assuming they weren't the biggest examples.
