I've not even got the bike it'll be on yet so it's a bit of a day dream that probably won't become reality. Has anyone explored the options of carrying an MTB on a motorbike?
I've seen a few options online, but it's not something I've seen in the flesh.
I looked into this. towing one seems to be the best bet IMO Front wheel clamped to bike, front wheel spindle does the up and down movement, steering head the side to side - that way the bike is upright and keeps everything narrow. I checked the legality - it would be OK assuming a proper lightboard.
I have carried one broken down and bunglied on but it was a pain. People have made racks.
the main issue if you are driving to ride is you need to swap kit so all your motorbike kit needs to be stored securely on the motorbike when riding the MTB. Thats not strightforward either

XL 29er... MTB sitting perpendicular with both wheels on like in that video is definitely a non starter!
Thought about it, thinking about it even for a minute showed it to be more hassle than it was worth.

Think he had a dirty bike and was racing across Utah or somewhere ace.
Pretty sure Charlie (thebikemonger as was) used to have a rack on his motorbike for a push bike.
Seems to remember him turning up to one of the Klunker Classics in Porlock on it.
Blake Samson did a vid (on GMBN, I'm guessing) taking his mtb on his motorbike on the ferry to ride on the IOW. looked like a decent set up and a good trip.

how hard can it be to have the bars on the back of the seat, saddle tied to the rack, and wheels bungyed to the frame?

Used to be a guy who did the Polaris events and Cumbrian trailquests etc that had made a rack for his motorbike.

@sharkattack I've not thought about selling it, but i suppose it's not used and wasting space, so yeah I'll sell. I'll check prices and message you tomorrow
I used to take the wheels off and ratchet strap the lot onto the passenger seat (Bandit 1200). It was a massive pain in the arse but everything's an adventure and worth it when you're young.
That 2x2 looks epic and makes me want to do it again.
