Uncanny - two of my very favourite artists there Stoner.
The Enigma Variations. By a chap called Elgar.

+1 for Stoners offerings, plus some culture please, Chopin Ballade No1 and Rachmaninoff symphony No2
And +1 for Danny Boy but the Christy Moore version from the Lament album...

Nope, kicking myself here too. 😀
Adagio for Strings from Platoon
Jonny cash- hurt. Almost brings me to tears when I hear it. But that may be because both my parents loved to listen to him.
One from my youth was the instrumental guitar music ( can't think what it was called) from top gun. Probably a bit cheesy for most bit I loved it. 😀
Jonny cash- hurt. +1
that is all the more moving because it was so close to the end of his life.
gorecki symphony 3 2nd movement. especially when sung by Dawn Upshaw.
a message written on a WWII gestapo cell wall.
On the classical theme, I always stop what Im doing when I hear struck-up "The Great Gate of Kiev" from Pictures at an Exhibition by Modest Mussorgsky as Mrs S and I chose it for our wedding.
Also the 4th & 5th movements from "Symphonie Fantastique" by Berlioz and just about anything by Faure.

Of last song featuring the national vocalist too which is probably more your thing?
REM - Everybody Hurts
Playing in the early '90's at the time when my boyfriend committed suicide - always now reminds me of the loss a wonderful, talented, inspirational person.
That Christy Moore....

that cant be considered "similar" to The National! 😛
EDIT: Ahh, now Last Song seems a bit more like it 🙂

Is it me or is there some dust in the air? I'm sure a bit of it just landed in my eye....... 😥
E-Hug coming your way, Sue.
Zadoc The Priest by George Frederic Handel. Composed for George II's coronation and played at every one since. Wonderful piece of music that builds to an amazing crescendo....... The 'Champions League Theme' blatantly ripped it off! Sacrilige!
Stoner: See the edit.
Told you you'd hate it I thoughtnit was total gash first time I heard it. Struggled with the album tbh but now I love it.
Of you could also try Espers. The second album is my favourite. I'll see if I can find a vid for yah too..
Never said that clogs were similar. But they do share personnel. The Dessner brothers...
Brahms 1, Mahler 5, Mozart Requiem,
and Johnny Cash "Hurt" +2
Heard a great quote yesterday, 'is the quality of the music greater than the quality of the silence that it's replacing"?
