The thinking man's Armageddon. 😉
I really like this, not that Armageddon isn't good but this is far more poignant and human in scale.
I remember going to the cinema to watch it and wishing I'd spent my pocket money on Armageddon instead.
Has it really aged better?
13yr old me probably wanted Michael Bay's noise and explosion's. Not some weak storyline about a middle aged man struggling come to terms with his mortality via the plot device of giving up his dirt bike and teenage daughter.
Tea Leoni performance was one of the most wooden for leading actors. A mannequin would be have more pathos
I watched this when I was a small boy and spent the next year with a neurotic fear of asteroids and mega tsunamis.
I think there was some news report in like 2002 about an asteroid that was forecast to come close to earth shortly afterwards and I couldn't sleep for weeks.
