Pook - MemberDid we find out what eskay was stuck on?
The spitting competition!
Please don't tell me how to do it though. My problem is that I only get time to play it on holidays/weekends away etc. I finished it about 20 years ago (maybe more) but my memory is letting me down (an age thing!!).
Do you want a nudge? (I can't tell you exactly, I only half remember myself)
Hmmmmm.. It is tempting but that is cheating isn't it..?!
No - I will be strong. I'll come back on this thread if I get a moment of weakness!
how are you running monkey island on your tablet? I can't see it to download from the app store or am I missing some wizardry?

Ah that explains it. Thanks

ooh i remember this one. 😆
Graham, on android download scummvm then find the game files online and copy to device. Don't know about Apple though.
the iso zone
Yep, I remember how to win the spitting contest. The order of rocks in the 'rock chute' puzzle would challenge me though.
Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders anyone?
Day of the Tentacle remaster now available on pre-order.

I know it's not quite the same - but Portal 2 takes a a lot of queues from it's forebears as regarding humour, detail and ephemera - I enjoyed it a lot.
Pi Day Gift: ScummVM is now available on the Raspberry Pi

Oh and if that takes up too much space, you might want to look at the new 314GB Western Digital PiDrive:

In other news, fans of this kind of thing will greatly enjoy the rather dark episodic game I'm playing at the moment: "The Last Door"
I've been playing episodes in-browser on Kongregate:

But the more recent ones are available on their website and are also available on Steam etc:

If you like Lovecraft horror and point-and-clicks then you'll love it.
The thread title jumped out! Monkey Island!!!!
Wow, folk are talking about their favourite 13th Floor Elevators tracks!
Looking for Grim Fandango on tablets for £4 with a bunch of other titles? Look no further.

Did anyone else get Day Of The Tentacle today ?
I had a quick play this morning before work got in the way of having fun.
More or less the same offer on, er, offer again.

I fondly remember getting completely stuck on Full Throttle walking to the nearest phone box with a load of change, notepad and pen to ring a walk-through line. This came about through fear of serious reprimands from the Mother. Years earlier I got stuck on Treasure Island Dizzy and spent an hour on the house phone listening to a walk-through. Parents went apoplectic when they got the bill 😆
Loved the Lucas Arts games. Think they've been mentioned, but Machinarium and Samarost are worth a go.
Any of these games available on iPad? Just started a new topic and then saw this....
Eskay, still stuck?
There's an imminent Full Throttle remaster.
Hmm, Humble Bundle site down so it appears 🙁 Quite fancy a couple of random games to escape into over Xmas.

"not with my bunnies" one of the best lines in any adventure game 🙂

Mate, I remember doing the same when stuck on one of the Zork games. They were bloody challenging BITD, as were most Infocom classics. The answer involved a rose IIRC.

You know you want to, it's Christmas.
Humble bundle this month is Sierra Inc police quest and king's quest.
Yup. (I posted the link on here a couple of days back.)
Day of the Tentacle (remastered) is currently free on PSN, I'm reliably informed.
Yes it is.
Finished it in a few hours. 😕
Show-off. (-:
You must have a good memory. It took me a few days playing at lunchtimes to finish it, though I only really remembered bits here and there. It's a solid game, reckon it'd have taken a lot longer without prior knowledge.
Currently playing Monkey Island on the Xbox. It's far harder than I remember, and I don't really remember any of the puzzles at all. I wonder if I never actually completed it back in the day? I thought I had but perhaps not.
Roll on a remaster of Sam & Max...!

I am still plugging away at MI 2
Bizarrely I remembered loads the bits I didn't the clues I understood more. Not replayed MI3 yet but I did finish it on the Amiga.

Yeah, I've been watching that. Need to finish Thimbleweed Park first though.
