So when posting on one thread then flipping tabs to post on another I often get this warning. I appreciate its an anti robot thing, but do you guys think you could reduce the delay time? Some of us are not actually senile, its bad enough waiting for all the laggy crap in windows, android and apple without you lot adding to it.
Boooo
So when posting on one thread then flipping tabs to post on another
😕
Do you rack all the threads up then go for a 147?
Drac whats the issue with that?
Josh yeah Of course.
THE INTERNET NEEDS TO KNOW MY THOUGHTS RIGHT NOW GODDAMMIT!!!
NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yes whatever peter, its just to do with how fast you type/think.
Have you tried chamomile tea @dbc?
I did, but that stopped the keyboard from working at all. (Unless that was an oblique reference to having the painters in?)

I wasnt aware that it was a race.
I wasnt aware that it was a race.
pfft, loser.
ive just read every thread on the front page.
ive prepared one word answers to each
ive got all the tabs ready.
Drac whats the issue with that?
No issue. Why are you in such a hurry that you need so may tabs open and feel the need to respond to each one?
Some of use just have a lot to give, baby.
This thread doesn't seem to tally with his posting history.
Yes I thought that too ^^ which says more about me than him/her sadly...
dbcooper != "feeling groovy"
Why are you in such a hurry that you need so may tabs open and feel the need to respond to each one?
Just have a break from work so have a quick browse and then bash a few replies out.
Anyway look it's not a major problem, sometimes you type fast, sometimes you don't. I am not sure why my personal morals come in to this. I just want to be able to reply at the pace that suits me. Your timer makes that lag sometimes, which is annoying and boring, you have the power to change that, is it too much to ask?
Re posting history - I have replied since so it wipes the time difference.
But there was a history on the hubs, this, and vice threads which was all around the same time.
Your timer makes that lag sometimes, which is annoying and boring, you have the power to change that, is it too much to ask?
The timer exists to stop spam bot and members overloading the forum. You only have to wait a short while before you can rush out that vital lol.

Translation=Get stuffed I can't be arsed to address user concerns. I weas considering paying for premier, not so sure now.
I originally thought the 'slow down' thing was to help prevent double posts, but yeah, it's probably an anti-spam measure. Without it a bot (or disgruntled user) could readily flood the forum with thousands of junk messages. For that reason alone I can't see it being removed.
However,
you have the power to change that
... even if I thought it was a good idea to remove it, we really don't have that power at all. The best we could do is ask the tech guys to review it (and you could do that yourselves if you so desired).
You sound very angry. Like one of those people who makes loads of noise when your typing.
Ever thought of slowing down a bit? I think you move too fast.
For that reason alone I can't see it being removed.
I said
but do you guys think you could reduce the delay time?

Is that not what I did?
Slow down; you move too fast.
Bloody hell, you're a grumpy gills.
Translation=Get stuffed I can't be arsed to address user concerns.
Oh get over yourself. The translation is that it's there for a good reason which is critical to the stability of the forum and thus far more important than one person's impatience, and we've "addressed user concerns" by explaining this to you.

I read that more as a comment on the quality of Drac's response, as opposed to your more reasonable explanation of why its there.

What bollocks. I said at the beginning that
I appreciate its an anti robot thing, but do you guys think you could reduce the delay time?
What I got from drac was dissaproval and sarcasm. S/He could have said, "the timer has been proven to be excatly the right time to be fast enough for the user experience but slow enough to prevent the bots, we can't do anything about it sorry". IE proving that he had considered it. But instead I got an electronic Eff U.
What you got was a query.
Oooh! You added a bit.
I hadn't considered it I reenforced why it exists.
But instead I got an electronic Eff U.
You really didn't did you?
What I got from drac was dissaproval and sarcasm.
there was more but he typed it too fast
I hadn't considered it I reenforced why it exists.
Which reinforces my translation.
Calm down ; you mood too fast.
Back to Rationalworld Forum.
Which reinforces my translation.
OoooooK! 😐
Not in a mood, just mild irritation at being treated with contempt.
Is that not what I did?
Not to my knowledge. Let me explain.
The Moderators - whom you addressed in the title of the thread - do not have the power to fulfil your request, even if we agreed that it was a good idea, which I for one don't.
The Technical team - the ones who (unlike the volunteer Moderators) are actually paid by Singletrack to maintain and develop their web sites - do have this ability. You can email them directly at the tech@ address with your "concerns" should you require to be told "no" by the people who would actually be involved in making that decision rather than those who are just providing explanations and opinions.
should you require to be told "no" by the people who would actually be involved in making that decision rather than those who are just providing explanations and opinions.
Jeebus! More contempt. Thanks. Please accept my apologies for asking a question. 😥
Look dude, the thing is it is necessary for the forum, helps support the quality of the community/posts, and isn't a more than a minor inconvenience for the few people who encounter it.
Therefore, wholly reasonably, it's not going anywhere.
C'est la vie.
I didn't ask for it to be removed.
