It blows my mind how calorific alcohol is. If anybody is thinking about shaving a few pounds then you could do a lot worse than looking here!

That's my problem. No matter how much exercise I get that belly isn't going to shift with the booze. The stuff also makes me eat more as I generally drink with meals, and on top of that regularly riding bikes means I get home hungry and pig out, and plenty of the happy stuff to wash it down with.

On the plus side, a bottle of wine is probably several of your five a day.

That's what's crazy at the moment with the "sugar is evil" obsession now. Just about all fruit, alcoholic or not, is likely to be banned soon due to the amount of natural sugar.

Depends where you live in the world really dunnit?

I would say the Basque region of Spain has the least alarmist guidelines..

Trouble is,the government keep moving the retirement age goalposts currently 67 by the time I get there probably be 70. I've no kids to support so why not have a tipple now and then when I fancy one.
