Popped in to the local One Stop for a pint of milk earlier (walked there too) and the guy serving had lots of rings on. We're talking 80's pro darts player levels. Not seen that for a while and it got me to thinking what's the STW view on men's jewellery. Do you wear any?

I had an earring in my teens and wore a thumb ring, various beads on my wrists and neck in my twenties. Now it's just the wedding ring. Can't recall when I stopped wearing the other stuff. So do we have any Mr T wannabes or aspiring DJ Einsteins lurking in here?

Watch, cufflinks, wedding ring, PA.

Any thing else is terribly non-U.

Nice Ugly Duckling reference though!

Got to keep an eye on the dookie gold rope CFH! Oddly I didn't think of watches. So watch and wedding ring for me. I can't keep sleeves down long enough to deal with cuff links.

Prince albert CFH?

I wear my grandads wedding ring. Thats it. I used to wear an earring ( often something big and flamboyant) and believe it or not a brass ankle chain but stopped in my 30s. Started wearing it all in the 80s when it was rather more acceptable than now and also didne look as daft on a 25 yr old as a 58yr old

Steel necklace (bought years ago as a gift by my wife). Two rings on left hand (wedding and a 10th anniversary aluminium one). Four rings in left ear. Go through phases of wearing one or two more rings on my left hand but usually get fed up with them before too long. And a watch. Am 49 if that matters.

Wedding ring and only because my wife insists.

I work with my hands and degloving (google it) is real risk.

Big earrings and the eighties was definitely a thing. Good call on age as well. Young folk can just get away with more 😊

Just an Indian silver bracelet I got on a backpacking trip nothing else. Used to have various leather thongs but they've all fallen off. Never did piercings (nor tattoos) and in my mid 50's not going to start! CBA with watches or rings.

Watch and a wedding ring, the wedding ring stays the same, the watch changes often. And cuff links if I’m in dress shirt, though I’m not sure they count as jewellery.

Used to wear a wooden bracelet I found at the bottom of Sydney Harbour. Looked a bit duff on a 30 something, let along a 40 something.

Just a wedding ring these days (the only titanium thing I own 🙁 )

Despite owning quite a few fancy cufflinks, I tend to wear silk ones.

I have a couple of nice watches, but I don't think the Apple Watch I usually wear counts as jewellery.

I wear a watch on my left wrist, 2 bracelets on my right wrist, 2 necklaces (one is Lyanda's dog tag with all the kids names on it), my wedding ring, a 'dad' ring from the kids on my right hand and a tongue piercing. My ears are pierced 3 times but haven't worn earrings in about 10 years. All stainless steel or silver, apart from the wedding ring which is titanium. I'm 42.

If you don't know what it is, it's exactly what it sounds like and you probably don't want to google it.

Still have my nose ring that I got done at 15. I'm 45 now. Still rebelling against my parents. 😎

Wedding ring only here too. Had never worn anything else before (ignoring watches and cuff links).

Yeah and your point is? I see a lot of women wearing a lot of jewellery, but not many men. Really not grasping what it is you're aiming for here. Not everything has to be about gender.

The only way jewelry is acceptable on a man, is if you're MC Tunes or Flava Flav

Wedding ring and sometimes a watch, if I remember to put it on...

I work with my hands as well, but I don't think degloving is such an issue if your tools are a mouse and a keyboard!!

I'll admit to various beads and bits of string round my wrists and neck until I got to my mid 20s... Never got any piercings.

These days it's wedding ring and a watch...

Adam Kay talks about a young man degloving his penis on a lamppost in his show, we all winced.

A W atch, very heavy silver thumb ring and my great-granddads wedding ring on my left hand, a titanium thumb ring and a thick but narrow silver ring on my right hand with two Indian silver bracelets, another bracelet made of interlinked silver aluminium and black rubber rings and a black plastic coiled bracelet I found on my right wrist, and a thick silver curb chain that’s an antique watch chain around my neck, with a fossil shark tooth suspended from it, mounted in silver wire that I did myself. I’ve worn that for over thirty years, with different things suspended at different times.
I’m 65 soon, I’ve never cared much what people think about what I wear, I care even less now.

Me too, aged 45. Used to have a whale bone thing from New Zealand round my neck and leather bracelets in my 20s. Never any piercings. Might still consider a tattoo at some stage.

wedding ring* and a watch most days (although since being made redundant I rarely wear a watch when I'm just knocking around - nice to not be tied to specific times)

I also have a plaited leather bracelet, which my kids got for me (at my request) which I like to wear when appropriate.

* Wedding ring and only because my wife insists.

I work with my hands and degloving (google it) is real risk

Most of the time now I wear a silicone ring (a nice one, not an ebay cheapie) https://ensorings.com/ partly because of the above and partly because I was 2st heavier when I got married and my real ring is too loose and potential to slip off too high, so i only tend to wear it on dress occasions. But i wouldn't be without A wedding ring, it's the most valuable thing I own.

Watch, cufflinks, wedding ring, PA.

“Tacky” doesn’t even begin to describe it. I imagine you own Anumal luggage too. And clumpy shoes. Jeez.

Got loads of stuff but seldom wear it, but occasionally I go full bling, gold neck chain, bracelets, rings ect, ect. Always have a watch on and a 18ct gold nipple ring with a nice diamond in it. Keep that in because Mrs taxi bought it and its to much trouble to take on and off.

Casio G-shock everyday and wedding ring if we're going out out.
Rest of the time it lives on my car keys.
I've been less keen on wearing a ring everyday since I had to hacksaw a friend's ring off his partially degloved finger.
I've got a couple of tattoos, and will probably get some more. I'm 46.

Wedding ring comes off for riding. Troll beads on a leather bracelet. One bead is of flowers and was the last bead I gave my mother for Mothering Sunday a few years ago. A few others are reminders. Had a nice silver bracelet from her I lost cycling too. Watch is apple so does not count. Have some nice cuff links but few shirts.

Don't even wear a watch, not married, no chains/bracelets or anything of the sort... Did have a late (in my 30's, still 38 now) rebellious stage, but they're not visible when I'm down the One Stop buying a pint of milk, so...

A "dress" watch ..currently awaiting repair ( as it has been for over a year now ) ..as I think the repair cost is extortionate for a bracelet requiring a couple of pins and always seem to have more pressing things to spend my hard earned on ..one day!
I used to wear a wedding ring ..but that got thrown off the Tyne Bridge at Newcastle over thirty years ago when that phase of my life ended 😁 .
Have previously worn a gold / black onyx dress ring ( still have it ) and gold rope chain ..but can't remember the last time ..don't really feel the need ...

I normally appreciate your posts and wit, but as I said previously not everything has to be related to gender. I was asking specifically about men because I don’t see many men wearing jewellery. If I’d wanted to ask about women I’d have asked about women. Therefore your comment has no bearing on the thread. I’m going to report you to you for this 😉

Thanks to everyone else. A real mix across the board. I’m quite tempted to have a search for my thumb ring.

Not a big fan of visible jewellery so most days I just go for a pair of nipple bolts and a watch. Just like the presenter on BBC Dragon’s Den.
