[#4695440]

It’s on Beeb 1 at the moment.

My own would be the works of H.P. Lovecraft.

I'd struggle for another subject in the unlikely event I were to proceed to the next round 😀

What would be your area of expertise?

Sherlock Holmes, probably.

Or Manchester pubs, 1985 - 2000.

Although they reckon you should always go for something new that you
have no previous knowledge of & approach the subject from a position of ignorance.
So lots to go at then. 🙂

The life and times of Field Marshal Sir Harry Paget Flashman VC, KCB, KCIE; Chevalier of the Légion d'Honneur; U.S. Medal of Honor; San Serafino Order of Purity and Truth, 4th Class

A true British hero who strode across the British Empire (and beyond), appearing front centre at just about every major historical incident between 1842 and 1905, surviving on his three natural talents: horsemanship, facility with foreign languages, and fornication 😉

+1 Discworld.

I think I would struggle with a specialist subject without studying for one. I'm pretty good at pub quiz type general knowledge. I know nothing about everything and everything about nothing. Or just about enough to appear a smart arse.

Actually no, come to think of it I'd pick something more straightforward. The Koran, or something.

😉

I'm pretty confident I couldn't come up with a specialist subject.

I'm not sure if this makes me happy or sad.

At a push I'd pick the films of Stanley Kubrick or DC comics with a leaning towards Batman (could I specify?).

... I've wasted my life.

Rebus. That or works of Isaac Asimov. Though I suspect either would involve a lot of work, and that having read all of those books multiple times probably wouldn't cut it.

In reality then I'd probably be far better off with history of off-road unicycling 😉

I'd probably go with the life and times of Philip J. Fry actually, on thinking about it.

The efficacy of mediaeval torture methods when used upon Piers Morgan.

Not something I know a great deal about, but I'd be willing to do extensive research.
