God, those middle eastern dishes looked good though.

They looked absolutely awesome! I also reckon Phillipe will end up winning it because he'll do well at the pointy end when they shove them in high end kitchens in front of food critics etc. He looked cool as a cucumber while producing amazing food

But if you asked me who's food I'd fancy eating most, I think Ayesha from last night is the pick of the bunch so far

Agreed, Phillippe does look good. Last nights were all weak with the exception of the lady doing the Middle Eastern food. She looks like she could go along way

Ayesha was by far the best last night and so relaxed with it.

I’ve just been checking the bio of some for tonight’s. There will be some stiff competition coming from tonight.

I enjoy the critics round but find it quite unpleasant to watch Grace Dent eat .

You’ll be able to watch her eating kangaroo bollocks next week! 😂

Grace is brill though!

I think Ginge is Phillipe’s main challenger here. He’s bloody good!

Must have been one of the tightest ever rounds at this stage.

Very interesting tonight - Alysha somehow fell at the last there. But the standard these guys can cook at is amazing.

I'm loving the ginger guy (sorry, forgot his name).

"I'm like a monkey with.... What are they called.... Cymbals" 😂

Great food, I'm loving it this year. More of the human interactions between chefs and judges.

The standard is so high this year, it’s bonkers!

I still think it’s Phillipe or Ginge for the overall win

Are they all aiming to become a Michelin star chef?

I quite enjoy it...

I feel bad for some of the contestants though, as it's not just about making a 5* dish, it's doing it in a tight set time frame aswell, as at home, or even as a chef in a posh eatery, if you stuff up a meringue or whatever, you can just make a new one and there's no problem...they can't do that in this.

Tho Ginge had a bit of a poorer day today.

I think they're all looking to prove that they are very very good chefs, which will hopefully boost their careers. Or just give them some sense of satisfaction

I think if they make it through the first round they are pretty top notch... I think it's the curve balls in meal spec and tight time constraints that are the killer, which isn't really representative, as the nerves must be through the roof, if you spoil one aspect of the dish you don't really get chance to re-do it unless it's something really quick and easy.

The dishes look good but also look very complicated. Well, to me anyway.

I should be the "taste" judge there LOL!

Phillipe just seems to breeze through whilst blowing the others out of the water.

Tom is a decent chef, but Phillipe matches him technically and has the benefit of knowing all sorts of exotic African ingredients and dishes.

Phillipe looks top drawer and has a winning way about himself. Tom obviously has what it takes but wasn't quite on show this week. He should hang in there: having watched this over the years, one consistent theme is the judges' preference for exotic flavours in the early rounds which one way or another - voting out the "challenging" or the hopefuls gradually migrating to the centre ground - ends up with more mainstream cooking prevailing.

These two are very good competent chefs. Difficult to choose.

Philippine only advantage is that he has sample taste from his tradition.

Tom has explored taste beyond his tradition.

Something like that ...

Looking at the ingredients and the preparation I find a lot of them are influenced by non-Western food.

I don't like "fusion" food and prefer to stick to pure traditional food cooked well.

Also, there other two female chefs, one Caribbean food specialist and the other one today, are also very good.

Phillipe is outstanding and very relaxed. They’re all excellent though.

Are they all aiming to become a Michelin star chef?

They’re cooking at extremely high level so pushing to those standards to win makes sense.

There is a previous runner up does a food truck up this way. It’s incredible use of flavours and ingredients for sometimes what is a simple dish.

This. I certainly hope so.... He's got a great personality to go with his cooking.

Was Philippe trying to be too clever?

I like Lauren's cooking because of the spice used.

Philipe messed up as I guess he runs out of ideas.

Tonight's should be interesting because two of the blokes are very good and creative.

Crikey, those 2 stars Michelin foods ... too complicated.

Just give me Indonesian and M'sia street food satay will do.

Ikoyi
It is named after a place in Nigeria.
