There was a thread not long ago that mentioned a few places I'd not heard of, but I can't find it. George The Third is my parents' go-to, but aside from now selling Trooper (\m/) I'm not a massive fan.
Where else to go? Budget flexible and anything considered - carnivoretastic or tree-hugger save the Wales spots are all acceptable.
We had lunch at NumberTwentyOne - which is at no 21 on the high street. Bloody lovely.
Caban-Y-Pair on the way back to Betws y Coed does really good pizza.
George III changed hands recently to a big chain. I'd check reviews first.
Quarry Café (veggie/wholefood) in Mach is top nosh. I will always visit if in the area to see what's on the blackboard, or for the regular face-filling salad bowl and sides. Cakes are often epic. Heartiest food in the land.
Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel is just across the road from George III, and I think it is excellent value for money.
It's not really Machynlleth though...

Went for Sunday din-dins 2 weeks ago - was fine. It's been nothing but fine for many years - mostly it's the location 🙂
Incidentally, I fell in to the Blasau deli the other day - reet good it is!
We went to Ynyshir the weekend before last. It was very enjoyable.Even if the music was a bit too loud.
