there's an awful ad on tv at the mo for one of the unis that has a lad who mixes his socks up in the wash, and other hilarious scenarios. I think the tag line is 'be who you want to be'
which is it?
Was laughing about this with the missus the other day. Its the cringe worthy Liverpool Hope Uni
Is that the one for some northern uni?
TV commercials for universities. In a country that used to have free Higher Education for all.
It's very sad. ๐
thankyou!
Nice to see those increased fees being to put to some good use!
I'm waiting for the first ad to appear where they've clearly fallen for the pitch:
We've got a fantastic concept! But we'll have to go to the Bahamas to film it!"
I'll give it 12 months tops!
I'll let Liverpool Hope's VC know what you all think. ๐
i'd be skeptical about any uni that needs to advertise on tv to get bums on seats
known locally as 'no hope' ๐

Quite a few of the larger ones do, one or two red brick too.

Bit harsh, I know a couple of Hope graduates who have perfectly well paid jobs in their fields. The thing is it tends to be arts, english and sports related rather than the more technical subjects so it gets an undeserved bad reputation.
I'm not sure all of them are bad, some of the adverts for the University of Lincoln are quite amusing...
I was in an awful one for Chester University, it was supposed to go out to colleges etc. but was declared too poor. I was in the art department struggling to find a book on the Universitys network so some helpful chap at the library found it for me, we shook hands and off i went. If anyting it didnt show the friendly helpfullness of staff it showed how crap the Uni's online library system was. Another scene consisted of a student getting a good price on his dinner, he was a drama student and walked away from the canteen dancing and did a little leg clap into the air as the film faded into credits.
