[Closed] London question: Barber in Kensington

My son lives in Kensington, and says that he cannot find a barber anywhere near him that costs less than something like £40.

Can any of you Londoners on here suggest a decent barber that charges something reasonable for a simple haircut in West London?

If you can, you will have the gratitude of two parents and a university student!

Find the nearest college that does hairdressing courses. They usually do cheap haircuts, with a the obvious caveats.

Seek ye Michael, the marvellous barber at Hackett on Sloane Street. Ignore the Hackett connection, Michael is truly excellent. A great barber, and a lovely chap too.

Less than £40 then?

Get on a bus get off where there are lots of chicken shops and mini cab offices find an eight quid barber. RBKC is a big place and not all of it is big bucks

£40?

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; give a man hair clippers, and he can have a number 4 allover for a lifetime.

not sure about that area but when I get my hair cut in London I go to Tony's on Crawford Street in Marylebone - from memory it's less than £20..

You can get a good haircut at GEO Trumper on Curzon Street for £37 😉

OP at risk of being flamed he needs to find a more "local" neighbourhood, London is hugely diverse from every perspective including wealth. When I was a student I didn't waste beer money on haircuts 😳

£6.75 for a decent cut at my local barbers. Devon is a bit far for you though 😉

Get on the tube/bus and find somewhere cheaper if I can get an excellent 10/15 quid haircut* in most capital cities it can't be that hard

*These days it's mostly a beard trim

I use clippers so don't use a barber anymore but he should be able to find someone in Hammersmith or Shepherd's Bush which are short bus rides.

@drac Alnwick prices are preserved via the shove Tuesday football accords.

I'd go with my local man being reasonable as it takes time to do it right unless your enrolling in the marines
