[#2059314]

My other half is travelling to the metropolis for work tomorrow, once finished she is going to stay with a friend.

So how would you big city dwellers recommend she gets from London Bridge to Wandsworth Town? She won't be hiring a Boris Bike...

Jubille line to Waterloo, then Overground from there.

Took me all of 30 seconds to find that out on tinternet. It's truly a wonderful thing... ๐Ÿ˜‰

I was about to say JFGI, but Fred beat me to it!

Tube is ideal, unless the comrades are striking.

Try the Alma in Wandsworth. Nice ale, decent food.

Knew you two would be first to response - no need for me to bother with google. Anyway it makes a change from asking about what tyres to use etc. Thanks for deigning to answer a country bumpkin's innocent enquiry...

Or Overground to Waterloo East, walk across walkway to Waterloo and overground to wandsworth town or if weather is passable, walk to Waterloo along the South Bank.

Kitchen at Alma is closed at the moment due to building works.

Ha ha! I think that's me and Flashy 'pwned'! ๐Ÿ˜†

In fairness, London can seem pretty daunting for those what don't know the place I spose. It's ****ing huuuuge.

That's an option, certainly if you're already on the Overground bit of London Bridge station, but I'm not sure how regular the service between LB and WE is; I don't think all trains between LB and Charing Cross stop their either. Jubilee Line is very frequent.

Every 3 or 4 mins. I am pretty sure every train frm Charing X stops at Waterloo East. Can be cheaper too, depending upon travel requirements earlier in the day as you are only paying for one mode of transport.

Yeah so probbly better if already above ground actually. Oyster Card/Travel Card still valid too I think. Bit more scenic too!

Or alternatively walk along the river from London Bridge to Waterloo taking in the sights, maybe a quick stroll halfway across the Milenium Bridge then past the South Bank Centre and thence to Waterloo and get a train.

Could do aP, could do. Quick sashay past the Tat Modern, maybe a small fart in it's general direction, then marvel at the beauty of that building on Hopton St, Sampson House.

I quite like it actually.

There you go - I have freed you from the shackles that bind you as a yokel. Best journey planner I've ever used, particularly for public transport in a new place.
