Never gone myself but I've been meaning to go for years. However, last year (and the year before?) the transport and parking situation looked like a total disaster, so it is still worth going to?
Cycle there.
When's it on? Always fancied it....
15th of September.
Druidh, that might not be the worst idea. The train gets within 15mins walking distance apparently, just a shame it would take 2.5hrs each way
A bike would be better on clogged up roads?
I got the train (luckily as quick as driving on a good day from where I live) and it worked well, standing room only on the return though.
Good day out.
Organise an STW ride to/from Leuchars. You might get a few hangers-on ๐
Go by motorbike. You can filter by the traffic queues and park on the base for free 8)
Air show is really good, I bikes over from Dundee. Only took 20 mins, breezed past all the standing traffic. Got a "good idea" nod from plod and took the bikes in.
Well worth a visit and cycle, St Andrews is only another 20 mins away and nice for a refreshing beer.
Going by motorbike then...awesome I'm going!
I know you mike... Might tag along if your going? I'll mail u
Yep, cycled from Dundee last year and I'll be doing it again. Great day out.
Been loads of times but not for 3 years. We are planning to go this year but will as usual either take the motorbikes or bicycles. If I leave the van at the Tay Road bridge car park it takes less than 30 mins to cycle to leuchars on quiet cycle paths through tentsmuir.
Go - it doesn't matter how you get there - although I would say anything but car. This may be the last year, as the RAF are pulling out and Leuchars will become an army base next year.
Went a couple of years ago, great day out. Train from Dundee, walk from the station. Busy but not insane.
Traffic though was something else. It said in the paper next day that some people had waited 4hrs to get out of the car park!
