Town near me has had 5 cars stolen this morning whilst sat with their engines running to defrost and with the owners back in their houses. Pretty sure most insurance specifically excludes vehicle theft under these circumstances so an expensive mistake. I have done this a few times (I'm not a regular early morning car user) - I probably won't now...

My older T5 has a Webasto heater. As above, either press the remote or set the timer.

Doesn't help clear the 9" of snow, mind...

Even though we have a heated screen I thought I'd give the hot water bottle a go. Gave it 15 on driver side and 10 on passenger.

My Mrs is now a convert to the hot water bottle trick. She said that those wierdos on the internet finally came up with a good suggestion..
