Does anyone use a stand for a laptop ?

I have an old desktop PC which doesn't used all that much, as I use the laptop more and more I would like a stand.

So that I can lift the screen and simply plug in a keyboard/mouse whilst sat at the desk.

Yep, got it from Betterware for about £10, use it every work day without any problems whatsoever,

Is the laptop screen better than the monitor from your desktop? Cos I'd use that too if not

I use one of a laptop stand and an external bluetooth keyboard

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-1093-CURV-Elevator-Laptop-Stand/dp/B00007L6IA

and one of these

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-MC184B-A-Wireless-Keyboard/dp/B002TUSWU4/ref=sr_1_4?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1286373697&sr=1-4

ludicrously overpriced admittedly, but then I'm a Mac user so will clearly be bent over for anything that looks nice. Oooooooooooooooooooh look!! Shiney brushed aluminium things!!! Where's my credit card 🙂

Molgrips is wise.

If it helps, my laptop stand is a currently a Haynes Workshop Manual for a MkIII Escort. I suspect other models would work equally well but I haven't tried them.

I use something like this:

then have some space for bits and bobs underneath. Although I tend to keep the laptop open on there, and use it as an extra screen alongside my big monitor.

I use one of those trays you can eat your dinner off, when using it away from a desk.

This one looks a little funky:
