Eurosport: Is there something wrong with their coverage of La Vuelta, as my picture is showing black bars either side of the picture ie not widescreen. It's like watching tv in the 1980's

& while I'm on the subject.. when I set my Virgin V+ to record It always seem to miss the last few minutes!

Are Eurosport crap or is it just me?!

cheers for any help.

Not just you Sunchaser, same here on both counts!

You can set the timer to start earlier and finish later, but that doesn't really help if things run over too much.

I've started recording the programmes either side instead.

If you find a fix for the "black bars" thing let me know!

I think the black bars are because the coverage is done by the Spanish media. Spain has yet to make a significant jump to widescreen, and a lot of the football coverage is still in 4:3.

yup, it's 4:3 content. Well done to Eurosport for broadcasting it in 4:3 instead of squishing it to 14:9 or 16:9 like a lot of channels

Most recent TVs will have a wide option/auto wide/full screen/smart etc. option in the menu that'll make it fit the screen.

It'll look shite though or cut loads of the picture off.
