Never been mugged, but my claim to fame is having a pr of scissors put to my throat by local nut job Carl Sutcliffe, he being the younger brother of the Yorkshire Ripper. Luckily he was talked down by a school friend who knew him. It all happenned too quickly for me to wet my pants, fighting back wasn't an option as I recall. 😳
Only 3 times in my life have I walked home alone in Cheltenham while i lived there - the 3rd time a chap walked "with" me gradually getting a bit more familliar along the way. He tried to get his hand in my blouse, which I made light of and walked faster as I was nearly home. When we got to the end of the road he stopped, said "What do you think of this" and got his **** out. I said "What do you think of this" and puched him right on the chin. On his knees he said "That wasn't very nice" to which I replies "THAT wasn't very nice" and ran home.
I didn't think twice about hitting him (he wasn't very big), but decided to tell the police in case he would do it again, or worse to another woman. They told me that as he had touched me I could have him for assault...........I didn't push that point with them!
