Was at my parents' today for Sunday lunch and one arrived attached to the back of my Brother in Law's shirt.

Dandy wee things aren't they? love the frilly antenna.

Always known them as May Bugs, there was much hilarity when thier correct name came up on google.

Nice. The next thing to look out for, but unfortunately getting rare now, are Stag beetles in flight - those are always guaranteed to make me duck before my brain processes what they are.

Went to see Jon Richardson at Carlisle last night. A Cockchafer attacked him, pretty much stole the show. He fairly freaked out about it until a girl from the audience scooped it up in an empty glass ๐Ÿ˜†

We used to get them in our school toilets, god knows how as they were on the third floor. Odd wee things, especially the freaky antennae! Didn't know they were rare now, shame...
