Anybody else had this before ? iPod is plugged in to the PC but it doesn't show up as connected... just like it isn't plugged in, but it is and it's charging ok. I've reset the iPod, tried closing down iTunes and restarting several times, tried a different cable but it's made no difference. Anything else i could try ?

I only wanna sync up some new tunes !

thanks,
Kev

It's happened to me a few times, I just reset / reboot my ipod and it usually sorts it 🙂

Is it really low one charge. Sometimes my daughters shuffle does this when it's completely flat. after a bit of charging itunes seems to just 'see' it

+1 for charge, plus are you on the latest version of iTunes?

Also I use to have lots of problems with iTunes and XP, but since on Win7 no issues.

all sorted now.. thanks. Seems ma PC had got itself a bit tangled up, took ages and ages to shutdown so once restarted I ran CCleaner. All ok now, can see iPod and sync has completed.

Does windows recognise it?

I had the same problem, neither windows nor itunes recognised it. Turned out to be one of the drivers.

Plug in ipod, go to my computer, view system information, hardware, device manager and the error was showing with an ! against one of the USB drives. Right click and update drivers. (Win XP)
