Here’s our boy Rossi. We lost his brother from another mother Rogue (also a Ridgeback) in September. We’ll probably get another Ridgie in the summer although I have quite a soft spot for shiba inus

Interesting story about the beardogs, would be very useful allies when trail riding in bear country! Bears what bears? Don't bother me and my new trail crew.

This is me and Esther, our rescue Labrador - we've had her 11 months and she's just over 2 years old. She took to running from day 1 and life has good easier having invested in a proper running harness for me which really supports my back - although she's not a big dog at 22kg, she's all muscle and we can hustle a 10k in under 45 minutes on the towpath. With the occasional "squirrel booster" we can reach sub 4 minute/km pace.

Running with Esther

Our cocker. I thought I'd spend a few weeks training him to be a trail dog, but disappointingly he knew exactly what to do from day one

Even the 'non-mushing' breeds are amazing with what they can do in harness.

Doug (Lab/Springer cross) will quite happily run 10k at around 15-20kmh with me on the bike, and will maintain 20kmh+ for decent spells. With the scooter where he's actually pulling properly he will still hold 15kmh for silly long spells. The vid is from when he first started mushing with the scooter in the late summer - he's so much stronger now. Only weighs 28kg but pulls like a train especially when my lights hit deer eyes in the distance...
