Your previous post floated onto the thread like a poisoned cloud.

you did not have to read it or respond though did you
IIRC the response here is
Perhaps you really aren't in control of yourself. Here's a little pointer for you - it's not my fault.

id like to see the way some people would react if they were trolled for real, call girls sent to you house, pizza delivery on the hour every hour, taxis, nudes of you and youre wife sent to you family, letters sent to you Neighbor telling them you like small boys etc...
its funny as they completely brake down and cant even figure out who is doing it to them.. and its all done for the lols, its even funny when they find you live on the other side of the planet.

Apart from those examples not being trolling the link you provide causes MalWareBytes to wake up and shout at me. Not a 100% safe link.

No idea what you are talking about now.

People use killfiles because they can't control their fingers or their emotions or both. It's not wrong, but it is what it is. Put it in a dress, apply some make up and a splash of perfume. It's still a crutch

When I deleted all the channels that I'm not interested in on my telly I hadn't realised that this feature was an emotional crutch. I just thought I was deleting crap that was of no relevance to me.
But having seen how weak this means I must be. I'll now go and reinstate QVC and thus make my life more fulfilling.

Yossarian - You may have a tenuous point, but why be so confrontational about it? It was almost as if you had control issues...

Junky's turned this into a shitefest IMO, personally I'm happy with my opinions and with airing them. That's it really.

IanMunro : it's not the same thing. Why do people constantly try and draw analogies between things that totally flippin different. It's bizarre, that's what it is.

I reckon some people are at some level worried that they're the equivalent of QVC, and are using emotional displacement as a crutch.

Killfile is clearly a crutch for you to assist you to do something that most people achieve without a problem.

Yep, pretty accurate. I'm happy with that ๐Ÿ˜€ But I'm not clear why this seems to bother you; I doesn't bother me.

Make no mistake, the problem is with you.

Some people are rude, insensitive or downright insulting to others; I'm not. Some people seem compelled to pick holes in other people's character [maybe you]; I don't.

And you think I've got the problem. Right! ๐Ÿ™„ ๐Ÿ˜†

Ok I was wrong. Over 3 pages, chat forum, political content. Pick 2. And avoid meaningless bollox

On why you need a filter, yes. On you as a whole person in the world? No idea.

I completely fail to see any similarities with the issue being discussed. Presumably your blocking software doesn't block threads, just individuals. So to make an analogy with watching TV you would need to be able to watch TV programmes but with the exclusion of certain personalities which you don't like, an unlikely scenario to say the least.

For the record I have no problem with anyone using blocking software, in fact it mildly amuses me - the thought of a grown man/woman lacking the maturity and self-indiscipline to ignore comments and not get wound up by someone who is presumably inconsequential to their lives. It smacks of putting your fingers in your ears and saying loudly "la-la-la can't hear you"......rather childish, but also rather amusing.

sorry for disagreeing with you can i not air my view?
I seem to have done it without being rude to you in every post and i am confident that either
Perhaps you really aren't in control of yourself. Here's a little pointer for you - it's not my fault.

or you are actually just rude.

you would probably be feeling a bit calmer and happier and like the thread have not been ruined if it just said

Junkyard said something stupid.

ernie the analogy is more like

I dont like QVC = I wont open watch threads or razor threads
I like BBC = OH what tyres thread that intrests me
Oh god Top gear is on = I would rather not read what X said about this

I dont really see why folk care one way or the other tbh or judge so much on the issue

Its rather ironic that the majority contributors appear to be those outraged that someone else needs this crutch..whilst telling them not to get annoyed at what others say/do...ah well

And a scenario that robs you of a huge amount of quality material.

I think mainly what is the contributory factor of folk on here being rude op, is that they are 40yr olds going no where who should be working and that they don't get laid, well maybe laid off...

Eh? Course you can, why bring that up?

I seem to have done it without being rude to you in every post

Really?

Rather than trying unsuccessfully to pick holes in my posts you could have given us all a decent defence of killfile usage. You haven't done that. My opinions have clearly touched a nerve junkyard, but if you go back through the thread I think you'll find you were insulting people a few pages before you and I started off.

From a personal point of view, I can't do with fools and their sweeping generalisations.
