Peston is someone I would never tire of comedy slapping.

I read recently that the intonation is as the result of a fairly serious stutter.

Apparently his extension of words is how he overcomes a serious stammer.........

I doubt it - he has a unique position (fortunately)

Good hack with great sources (leaks) during the crisis. Then the Dilbert principle springs into action.

Not an economist and found wanting in current role on a daily basis. But perfect for modern media where content and knowledge is relegated to the nice to have/totally unnecessary

News and Newsnight closer to panto these days. Poor show from the Beeb but in line with dumbing down strategy.

I admire Peston, but mildly irritated whenever I hear other commentators adopting his presenting style.

BBC for radio news coverage (mostly Today) and C4 News for tv news coverage these days.

I like his pre-recorded pieces on R4, but he does have me reaching for the channel button when live
The content is good, but hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis presentation....

He's dealt with a huge amount personally. If I could still function on TV in front of the nation, I'd not give a shit what forum dwellers thought!

He seems to be sporting the "wild man from the woods" look recently.

But yes, a tragic time in his personal life in last few years.
