[Closed] Is there a motorbike equivalent to STW?
Pre-empting my mid-life crisis, I bought a motorbike @ xmas and could do with some advice with regards to getting some work done on it.
Is there a motorbike equivalent to STW anywhere?
Cheers in advance.
You could give these a bash......although most bikes have a dedicated site for their owners, would help to know what it is (and pics of course)

As much as I don't always agree with the content, I find that Singletrack has the format down exactly how I like it, unfussy and easy to navigate
Is visordown still absolutely overrun with pricks?
Is visordown still absolutely overrun with pricks?
That's what the OP asked for, isn't it?
I set 'em up, you knock 'em down

Yes
See post above.
OP - what work do you want advice on? I'm in the motorcycle industry and there are plenty of motorbike owners on here.
If you own a gsxr, gixerjunkies.com is a very friendly and welcoming site.
Thanks for the replies everyone.
neninja, I need to get my tank resealed but not sure if I have the skills to use the POR15 that's been recommended.
Also need to get my carbs set-up.
Anyone recommend a good mechanic in or around Brighton?
Thanks again.
I used Petseal on mine, pretty straightforward tbh, like making a cocktail ๐
ive also used petseal its good stuff i think you can get it on ebay now.
por is the stuff and its a piece of cake.. remove tank empty let it stand for a couple of days to let the fuel evaporate, mix up the resin pour into tank swirl around for 10 minutes leave to stanf for a week refit fill and job done.. and if i stand on my tiptoes on the wardrobe i can see frosts where they sell the por..
Heard mixed reports about the durability of Petseal. POR15 lasts much longer apparently.
It's an old bike so needs the job done properly.
Think I'll give it a bash myself. Going to get the bike resprayed anyway.
Thanks again for the help.
what have you bought?

]1976 Z900[/url]. Myself and a mate imported it from California early 90's and sold it to another friend who's had it the last 18 years. Hardly using it; 10k miles in that time. Bought it off him at Xmas as he got caught drink driving...silly boy.
Had one years ago and loved it then. Turns out I still love it now!
Mcnninjas is a good Kawasaki based forum or therevcounter is another run by the guys who used to run visordown I think
www.therevcounter.com for me. I'm the highest poster on there with almost 30,000 posts too actually ๐
Caswell coating seems to be quite common now too, when i was looking at getting my Ducati tank done there was a fella who did classic bikes over Brighton way, i'll try and find out the details for you.
i ve used them all on trials bikes on steel ally and fibreglass tanks many fibreglass tanks are now becoming porous or worse the resin is 'melting' and glazing carbs to the point where the bike stops and the carb is scrap. this is as a direct result of the amount of ethanol in petrol in the US this is even a bigger problem as thier percentage of bios is bout 5% more than Uk.
the 'flexy' liners do not seem to resist ethanol as well as those that go rock hard.
POR15 id the stuff anything decent costs a few quid but i ve seen how much they sell at frosts. they employ someone simply to do the mail order packing on the stuff they sell so much..
Any joy with those details weeksy?
I looked mate and although i had 3 threads on Caswell, none of them had the link to the company that do it i'm afraid.
If i'm not mistaken i think i called Caswell directly and they put me onto them.

These places might be worth a call too -

Assuming you want an equivalant try TBM.
Cheers guys
