the wife's shuffle got soaked in coke in the cup holder in her car. having dried it out it plays fine, but when docked to the pc am getting a message along the lines of 'unrecognised usb device'. Nowt wrong with itunes as the other 3 ipods in the house are fine. have tried various tips from itunes/ipod help but no luck.
any ideas ?
Clean out the ipod's dock port with some IPA or other electrical contact cleaner. Probably just got coke on some of the contacts.
ah, never though of that - I have some IPA spray so will try that tonite. cheers
Aye - coke (being sugary and sugar is a conductor) is bound to frack up electrical contacts as they will short out)
