#2 spawn’s iPad microphone doesn’t seem to work.
Not obviously blocked; before I take it into Apple (when it reopens…) has anyone got anything I can try? Have done a hard reset to no avail.

First thing to try is a hard reset. I don’t know the sequence for an iPad mini (on my phone it’s vol up, vol down then hold side button) you’ll have to google it. EDIT: sorry didn’t see that you’d done this.
Plug some headphones (with mic, obvs) in and see if those work. I’d test using the voice memos app.
If the headphones work it’s probably a hardware thing. If not, a full software reinstall may fix.
