I thought Hora was the only thing worth doing in Manchester?! Just picture the scene DD and Hora going at it while Binners watches on from the corner of the room like a homo erotic adoring gecko....

Ummm - Binners? You know that place you recommended? The Deaf Institute, that one.

They only have Europiss on tap.

This is Manchester, y'know, not That London or Paris or something

I'd be happy to spend all night in the City Arms ๐Ÿ™‚

That'll be a motivation to stay off the fags. I can just imagine the grief I'll get otherwise ๐Ÿ˜›

That night with WCA is very hazy. I know there was whisky involved in the Britons. Oops!

And Hora - since when have you needed your drinks spiking, you slaaaaaaaaaaaag ๐Ÿ˜‰

If you like good beer then the Marble Arch on Rochdale Rd is worth a visit or you could go to 57 Thomas Street, which is a spin off selling the same beers. Pint, Manchester and Best are all lovely, as is the Yarlington Mill Gwatkin cider. For curry I can highly recommend East is East on Blackfriars Street.

justatheory - good call on both.

The guy (ponytail) who works in 57' used to manage Surburbs a really nice indie coffee shop on Deansgate before it shut down ๐Ÿ™

In light of the sexism thread, I'd like to make it known that this will be an all-inclusive evening out. hora can be kept tied up in a corner in case anybody's worried. (he'll enjoy that anyway) ๐Ÿ™‚

This appears to be a 'blokey' gathering.
Edit - I didn't mean that it was sexist.

Aye it looks a bit poncy/pricey, judging by the online menu. My Missus has got one of those HiLife cards though, so it's 2 for 1. I hope it's not one of those places where you need a kebab afterwards.

Hmmm, I may have lived in Manc for nearly 4 years, but I never go out so haven't even heard of most of the places mentioned. Are girls (or even grumpy old women ๐Ÿ˜ณ ) allowed to come out to play too?

I know the chef in that place - go for big hunks of meat for your main!

You won't need a kebab afterwards, just a sedan chair.
Have a cocktail next door first, they are bloody lethal.

Will be in the Britons next Thursday for a meeting.
Up for meeting up later if anyone's still standing about 10ish.
Funnily enough am there tonight as well.......

Try The Angel on Rochdale Road on a Monday night for good ale and the company of real life, down to earth, nice to chat to TV and film celebs.

Dunno about you guys but I'm now of an age where I need to eat early, 'specially when beer's involved.

What happened to my chin-stroking evening at The Deaf Institute - that looked bloody great. ๐Ÿ˜

Akbhars sounds good though hora - is that a place for the purveying and eating of fine eastern spicy foodstuffs? ๐Ÿ™‚

EDIT:

Actually, kinda me too. Prefer the early curry, then beers at wherever - Immagonna carry a bag of parsley for hora to eat afterwards...I'm not sure I can take his curry-garlic breath on the back of my neck. ๐Ÿ™‚
