I deal with Glasgow city centre parking charges by rarely driving there. Which I suppose is the idea. There is a reason the likes of Braehead and Silverburn are rammed.

Mrs IRC and I were actually going to get the train into Glasgow the other week then realised it was a strike day. We went elsewhere. Who would be a city centre retailer?

Probably because most people will have at some time had the joy of not being able to park despite there being plenty of nominally empty spaces, except they’re not available because of some **** Mr Magoo leaving their selfishtwuntmobile hanging over into another space because they’re too bone idle to put in slightly more effort to park within the lines.

I think this fits QED. I'll take it anwyay.

I'm quite surprised people park in the urinals. I don't really like the smell.

How many bays do we think it should take ?

I’ve seen them in the flesh and they are bigger than your average U.K. vehiicly but can’t remember seeing one in a car park situation 🙂

In all fairness would you like if he parked between the lines but next to your car……

But equally does he need a dodge ram in the UK……

Exactly, the mere fact he owns that vehicle tells you all you need to know about him 😂

I suspect he would be substantially more concerned about dings to his vehicle than I would be with mine 😀

I park at the back of supermarkets and shopping centres where there are normally 100s of empty spaces, and in doing so I often abandon my car quite badly, however as there is no shortage of parking these areas, I mean who cares. I avoid the front near the supermarket as I assume these spaces are used by people who diffculty walking more than a few metres. Plus I hate being in the car and find its much quicker to abandon vehicle at the back rather than piss about squeezing in between other cars. I don’t want to door anyone and find it easier to load my car if there is nobody else nearby. And I like my privacy and prefer to do all this away from other people.
In doing this I have observed some of the oddest behaviour.
1) The number of people that go out of their way to come to my little oasis at the back and berate me for not parking “correctly”, I mean 5 or 10 spaces either side of me are empty, and yet this is still so offensive to someone they have to come and tell me (normally through a half open car window).
2) If I ever do manage to accidentally get my car in between the lines, I’ll come back and find someone has parked right next to me. Even with plenty of other empty spaces. These are the people that choose the urinal next to you when there are 20 empty spaces.

British people are so desperate to conform and do as they are told that they have to call out those that dont.
I have no idea what part of the car park Mr Dodge Ram there has parked, and neither do the rest of you, so better to leave him to it.

Just park your vehicle properly in the space. Consideration costs nothing.

I always try and park in the empty part of the supermarket, but parking between the lines shows you have the self respect to perform simple tasks well.

This is why MG Midgets rock. I reckon you could park it inside the white lines, in the space they’ve left.

Only problem is you have to have a really good memory of where you left it. I lost my MGB in Nottingham once - for  - couldn't see it in the street where I was sure I'd parked it, checked various other streets, and coming back to where I was sure it was - was about to concede it was stolen and it  turned out it had been hiding behind a Citroen AX.
