So does anyone remember the other day when we were talking about exploding power supplys in PCs?
Guess what just happened to me? ๐
Went to reboot and I was rewarded with a loud *POP* then the sight of the mysterious magic smoke* escaping and the pleasant aroma of burnt plastic and ozone. Yum!
So... anyone know where I can pick up a decent 400W+ PSU on a Saturday? Do PC World stock such things or is that too "tech" for them?
* some say the smoke is the soul leaving the PC and it will never work again
PCworld are quite good for parts ime.
you can't get the smoke back in once it's come out ๐
PC World do stock psus. I'm reckon you'll get a better deal online but if you want one quick I'm sure they'll have something.
Cool I'll give them a try.
On the bright side I can confirm that the forum does now work okay on a netbook with all the ads turned on ๐
Maplin will be much cheaper.
I know PC World do the new 27" iMac ๐
Hmmm both Maplin and PC World seem to be fairly expensive and don't offer any of the Silent PC Review recommended PSUs.
I might just make do with the netbook till I can order online.
