Never been in a strip club. Not down to any particular aversion; I've just never had occasion to go into one.

Still have a lot of affection for Blade Runner, having first seen it when I was much too young to take in any of the subtleties. I just remember loving the look and feel of it, and delighting in the grizzly eye-squashing bits.

Is this "I've never xxx because I've never had the opportunity" or "I've never xxx because I haven't wanted to"? I think many have started in the first but ended up in the second.

I've never been in Pizza Hut or Burger King. Only been in McDonald's 3 times in my life and only had one burger there (which was enough). When we were kids my brother and I pestered our mum to take us to Kentucky Fried Chicken, they were just opening in the UK back then, never been since. More than likely I've never even heard of other fast food outlets.

I've never been on Facebook. Apart from Twitter I've not been on any of the social media sites including mumsnet (shocking I know). Even with Twitter it must be a month or more since I visited the site.

Never seen Citizen Kane, maybe i will, maybe i won't, not sure if it matters if its good by current standards but an important film.

Ive also never finished War and Peace, i have however started it more than once. Tolstoy should have put more lasers in it.

Have read Anna Karenina but like you not got very far with WaP. The other Russian novel I've not managed to finish is Dr Zhivago - the interleaving of timelines was a bit much for a 16yr old 😳

..been in a Turkish prison.

Or watched a Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings film in its entirety.

I imagine that all these experiences are similar.

Have you ever seen Midnight Express? One of the few films that is so harrowing and disturbing that I have no desire to watch it again.

Yes, good film though I have been on an 18-30 Holiday in Bodrum that was very similar.

I've not seen it, nor the Star Wars (I've seen the Family Guy versions which I hear is broadly the same thing).

I'll get round to it, I need an easy new years resolution.

Sorry CFH, the Melania Trump one is better.

I feel I'm missing something.

Who has Corbyn plagiarised? Or is he an emotionless replicant?

Aye, that was my feeling on the matter.

I'd never seen the Rocky Horror Show film until I got back from Transylvania this Summer...

Rachel

We were shown it as part of 'O' level Chemistry. Still, no idea why.

I've tried to watch it, but f*** me it was dull. Gave up half way through. No idea what all the fuss is about.

The book which most closely resembles RS's vision for Bladerunner is William Gibson's Neuromancer, which was published two years after the film came out. I'm not certain if there was a direct influence, Gibson writes so slowly that it could well be the two were running in parallel, just a coincidence, something in the water, as it were, that there are similarities in the cities in the film, and Gibson's descriptions of BAMA, the Boston-Atlanta Metropolitan Axis.
He's given up writing such speculative fiction now, he can't keep ahead of how real technology is actually moving.

Well... his most recent book (The Peripheral) is definitely sci-fi, set in the future and everything, and even his least sci-fi trilogy (the Blue Ant trilogy) still has speculative elements. It's also my favourite trilogy of his.

I have watched Bladrunner. I tried reading the book but it felt very dated in a way I didn't like and I couldn't get into it at all. I have watched Citizen Kane but I didn't find it particularly engaging, not matter how influential it might have been on cinema and film making.

I have never watched Goodfellas. I have seen Casino and possibly that is part of the reason I haven't gotten round to Goodfellas yet.

"My mother? Let me tell you about my mother!"

I've never watched Strictly, bakeoff, or most of the other currently trending popular entertainment.

Have any of you read the book https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Do_Androids_Dream_of_Electric_Sheep%3F

though?

All these moments will be lost like tears in rain.

It's been my favourite film since about 1986 and the above line was very deliberately cribbed for my website address.

No, it isn't. In fact, it was pretty much ignored for years, it's only over time that it's developed such a strong following, which had nothing to do with film critics.

This!
