This is my 3rd one. I've spent a chunk of time, money and effort getting this right... I have the Superduke R seat unit arriving this week to give me an uncomfortable ar5e 🙂

Thank you 🙂 it's been a labour of love i can tell you. The exhausts went on last week, along with the new Brembo RCS master cylinder, the larger fuel tank, powder coated swingarm and a full suspension refresh.

Had a minor brake issue yesterday with the wrong fluid, but that was resolved last night with a bleed of the brakes...

It's an amazing ride.

Mrs Weeksy has a 2005 Yamaha R1, i did 60 miles on it on Sat... i was VERY happy to get back home and onto the Superduke i can tell you 🙂

Any ideas then guys on how to get my forum higher up the Google/Yahoo etc food chain ??

http://superdukeforum.forumatic.com/index.php

I'm guessing eventually it will get there.. but it's still quite anonymous in the search engines world.

Thanks mate. I wasn't overly inspired by the Duke 3 690. Much preferring the 690SMC myself. However they're only good for 110mph which means on longer rideouts or fast trackdays etc you'r struggling. Once you get past 80mph they're starting to run out of steam compared to bigger bikes.

Not a problem if most of your riding is on your own... but when out with friends it can be slightly disheartening.

*wonders why Weeksy's brake fluid is clear yet mine is black. Time for some work on my SM 🙂

You don't know the half of it mate.

Recently i had the bike off with a mechanic, it was given to him with a long list of jobs. One of which was to fit a Brembo RCS master cylinder. Another was sorting the clutch.

Sadly... he thought it was a weird KTM thing and put Magura mineral oil in the brakes as well as the clutch. Thus rendering my brakes completely useless and contaminated. They're currently off the bike and being stripped and getting a new set of piston seals and possibly a new Brembo RCS master cylinder. The reason it's lovely and clear is because i bled the brakes as soon as i realised it was wrong in the hope flushing the mineral oil out would be enough.... sadly.. it was not.
The stuff you see in there currently is the Magura/Shimano fluid 🙂

weeksy - don't expect much from Google (or any search engine for that matter).

Your forum is on a subdomain (of forumatic.com), which is not Google-friendly at all.

if you're serious about appearing in Google, then do the following:

1. Buy a domain name - superdukeforum.com - or something.
2. Rent some webspace which has forum software available at the click of a button (United Hosting do, IIRC).
3. Submit your website to Google (there's a form), and start using it. The more content you have (*regular new content*) the higher you will be in the rankings.

I only recently discovered SuperDukes and bloody love the look of them. Sadly I can't ride (legally) so can only dream of having one. You need more galley pics.

Not a motorbike rider (fan of the racing though) My feedback on that forum weeksy would be that there are way too many sub forums! It does stop people using sites eventually, as it becomes too hard for people to find stuff. Well done though on starting it hope-I hope that that didn't come across as rude BTW just some hopefully constructive feedback.

Didn't bsb have a superduke support series a few years back?

Not at all rude mate.

Yes they did for a couple of seasons. Some top riders in there and VERY very quick lap times considering they're not sportsbikes.

Is the rc8 in wsbk this year? That is the KTM superbike isn't it?

The RC8R is techincally the closest they have. That's the Race version of the standard RC8. However no i'm afraid it's not. They've either been uncompetitive in Superbike classes or not allowed at the time due to engine capacity rules.

There's plenty running in various Superbike classes, but none in WSB.

Yup it works. You need to change the domain within the forum software - still says superdukeforum.forumatic.com at the top

Do you mean on the top right next to the logo or in the address bar ?

I can't change the one to the right on the logo currently.

Ah right, can't do anything about that... it's just the URL that's important at the moment.

Ny Nexus7 is confused, my laptop is confused... my Server in Reading is happy, my server in Bangalore is happy... my one in London redirects back to my hosting company...

I think i need to show a bit of patience and leave everything alone for a few hours 🙂

Thanks for the attempts/info lads.

OK, i'm al working and happy again with the new forum name.

Thanks to all for the suggestions and ideas. Also for the testing of URLs etc. Much appreicated. The dynamic speed of the forum makes it easier than emailing a mate and waiting for replies etc.

what about duke 690 owners? i bought a broken one to harvest the engine, and i found another engine as well. the plan is to make a frame and go supermono racing again. truimph 675 running gear. getting a cr trans made, but i don't know much about engine tuning yet - who makes and sells camshafts, pistons etc off the shelf?

http://www.ktmforum.co.uk/search.php?searchid=523838

690 owners generally go there mate, although i do have a subsection on the forum.

But for techi info on engines for the 690, the KTMForum is the best place.

Be aware...they're not all sweetness and light... they're a brutal bunch in general 😉

If its filling a gap in the market, it should grow. I got mine a domain name, splashed a few links around, and before I knew it, 'Iveco daily' on google brought me up number #3 or 4 in the listings (just after Iveco themselves and a couple of big dealers) and add the word forum gets me #1. Its two years old and has 7600 members.

All I would suggest is less subforums is more. Too many forums is a maintenance nightmare. Look at this place...four forums and its great.
