Is there'a correct term for that gap?

Same as the distance between the carpark machine and the ticket.

What is that distance and what isit called?

Just stretch

i think he means:

ferrari itch - beyond reach

holiday to new york - save up for a year

biking legend - achievable ( in his dreams)

Kelly Brook - only if he takes up rugby

It's invariably about £20 further than my overdraft will stretch.
