Yep. A year is normal, but it depends on both airline AND route.

Some of the airlines release them in batches of a few months. Waiting for Flybe to let us book April 2017, it currently only goes to the weekend before we want.

You might find the flight times changing the further out you book, so just double check when ordering taxis and what not.

Be careful when booking far ahead. Twice Ive had flights change the time and date of advanced bookings.

Once to Fiji which was a pain as it meant rebooking the connecting flight. Once to Argentina and again that meant rebooking other connections.
