Like it says really - I'm taking Mrs Clubber away for a weekend and looking for somewhere good near Oxford-ish (planning to go to Bicester and to the MK snow dome during the weekend), ideally with a Spa where she can have some treatments (I always think that sounds like a euphemism for interrogation ๐Ÿ™‚ ) and so on.

Price - nothing too silly but happy to pay for somewhere good. Ideally we'd be able to eat there one night.

We stopped here for a night prior to going down to Wembley once, just off the M40.

Quiet place, recently done out, good food and friendly too.

Try the Four Pillars chain. Oxford Spires is a 15 min walk from the city centre & backs onto the river & a horse sanctuary. You can also get a 4-poster bed at no extra cost. The Oxford Pillars is a bit further out of town but still on the river. Both have spas.

Or, if you want a quick divorce, book in for a long weekend here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/travel/2008/jan/16/hotels.travelnews
