Just a quick note to say a massive thanks to the Hope guys at Megavalanche. The Hope race support team fixed my levers twice after two pretty heavy falls, all for free and with the minimum of fuss.

There surely can't be a better advert for buying british.

Thanks!

I think Hope should run for government, own a bank, be the stick that all other retailers are measured by**

**it obviously costs them to keep this up, but their tireless reputation obviously works for them as they have expanded massively in the last 5years, let alone the 10 or 20!

hope sorted me out with a new lever when i bust my brake at the mega a few years ago, cost me 13 quid i think

when my mate trashed his shimno lever on the same trip he had to shell out for a brake- caliper and lever at silly alpine prices

I wasn't there but I'm always impressed by Hope so always like to chip in when they're receiving some love.

Yup, also brown nosing here too - never yet been able to fault them and love their products too. One day they'll slip up, but it's not happened yet!

I bought my first ever disc brake back in 1999 (roughly) from Hope.

I had no idea how to set it up and ended up pumping the pistons firmly closed by squeezing the lever without any rotor in.

Called Hope and must have sounded sufficiently confused that they just said "pop it all back in the post to us and we'll sort it for you". Nice offer considering it would have been obvious to them that I'd just pushed the pistons out.

3 days later I got it all back with a load of free stickers and a wee note saying "call us when you are ready to put it on your bike and we'll talk you through it". Which they did ๐Ÿ™‚

Now that's proper customer service.

Although I never did find out what the odd dogbone things are for in the disc mount facing kit.

Just to balance this brown nose thread up a bit.

They are not always good. I rang and asked about buying some replacement parts for some old brakes I had.

They told me they didnt have any spares as they had made a new model and i should buy a whole new brake. Even though I just wanted a small spare bit to service the older existing ones.

In the end I found the bit I needed at UK bike store, but its a bit of a pain when they sell you stuff but dont support servicing it later on. No point making stuff last ages if you dont do spares when it does wear out. Your then forced to "upgrade" for the sake of a small spare part.

I rang them about bearing sizes for an old bulb hub. As usual they were very helpful and even sent me out a free cir-clip for the free hub.
Excellent service.
This fantastic service definitely influences new purchases. I recently purchased some tech evo m4 ltd edition brakes and some pro 2 evo hubs on the strength of previous hope brakes and hubs I have / still own.

They support older kit with spares a lot longer than any other manufacturer I can think off.
