I am opening up a stp file which is aroun 8mb in size so there must be something within it - however when I open it up there is nothing in the assembly tree - am I doing something stupid? I sont usually use step files but a client has sent it over in step

I've not used Catia but have been using PowerSHAPE for a fair while - could they be importing onto a blanked/switched off layer?
Would have thought they'd still be in the tree though...
I'd probably ask your customer to check & re-send.

Which version of Catia are you using?
Which version of step is it (AP203/214)?
What was the source system? (application package and operating system)
