Bu99er, dropped my favourite helmet, and, following the rules, I was going to bin it and get another one. But then it occurred to me, it wasn't a big drop, onto a soft'ish surface, well covered in leaves and it wasn't a crash (ie my head wasn't in it at the time) -
so if I x-ray it, can I tell if it's suffered any structural damage?

I drop mine all the time.. I think they are designed with a few minor knocks in mind.. If it wasnt a new helmet would be needed every ride by me as I always seem to crack mine against low hanging branches, drop it when changing ect. I think the helmets require a 'major shunt' to make them worthless. I binned mine recently after a major shunt. All the interior moulding cracked due to the impact.
